- Plan information (wishes, funeral preferences, will location, key accounts)
- Healthcare directive information
- Sensitive data: PPS number, bank account details, sort codes
- Communication data (emails, support messages)

- To provide and maintain the Family Vault service
- To process transactions and send related information
- To respond to your inquiries and support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
- To verify deaths and authorize concierge access
4. Data Protection
Sensitive data (PPS numbers, bank account details) is encrypted using AES-256-GCM with a separate encryption key. We never store or access this data in unencrypted form.
5. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. We may share data with:
- Law enforcement when legally required
- Solicitors and executors who are authorized to access your plan
- Service providers (hosting, analytics) under strict data processing agreements
6. Data Retention
- Active plans: retained for the life of the account
- Deleted plans: purged within 30 days
- Completed cases: archived for 7 years (legal requirement), then purged
